don’t know about you, but I need a Vacation! This time last year I was in Germany for the Essen Spiel international games convention and it was amazing. Sometimes we just need to get away from it all and just be on holidays.

If this is where you are at right now then Tokaiado is just for you, a relaxing game of hot springs, vistas, good food and mementoes all on the Island of Nipon. The Tokaido road which dates back the 11th century connects Edo with Kyoto! It is a literal pilgrimage in a box.

In a time when we just can’t get out or away you can shed the surroundings or normality and meander in your own time along this ancient trail. The movement mechanic in this game is unlike any other I have played, you just choose how far you want to move each turn between the Inns, using your agency to go as fast or slow as you want. You can race to points of interest or take your time seeing sights along the way.

The game has many play styles with so many different people you can be each with their own unique personalities and quirks.

A Fin-Forge game with wonderful artwork and simple rules can be played easily by ages 8 and above.

If you need a break, then put on your sandals,  grab your walking stick the road awaits with all its delights, happy to walk with you  (FB @oddrev) for the journey of a life time.
