Play as Sacred Practice
Play is more than entertainment or escape. It creates a space in which imagination, curiosity and shared participation can become sacred. Through games, we rehearse choices, explore identities, encounter other perspectives and discover meaning together. Ludus Sanctus asks what happens when play is understood not merely as a break from ordinary life, but as a spiritual practice woven into it.
The Long Game
Human beings have always played. From the Royal Game of Ur in the ancient world to ritual contests, storytelling traditions, tabletop adventures and digital worlds, play has travelled with us through the ages. Games have long carried more than amusement: they have held patterns of order, risk, hope, community and meaning. The tools and rules may change, but the deeper questions remain: Who are we? How should we live together? What kind of world might we create? The long game is the continuing story of humanity playing its way towards meaning.
