WandaVision 4 We interrupt this Program

Join Julie McDonald, Sandy Brodine and Rev Will Nicholas as they continue their nine-part exploration of Marvel Studios’ WandaVision.

“We Interrupt This Program” takes us beyond the sitcom world of Westview and reveals what has been happening on the outside. Monica Rambeau returns following the Blip, only to discover that five years have passed and her mother has died. Soon afterwards, an assignment brings Monica to Westview—and through the mysterious boundary surrounding it.

In this conversation, we explore grief, disorientation and the experience of returning to a world that has continued without us. What happens when life changes in an instant? How do people rebuild after collective trauma? And what do our attempts to observe, categorise and control suffering prevent us from seeing?

With Jimmy Woo and Darcy Lewis investigating the strange television broadcasts, familiar events are shown from a radically different perspective. Westview is no longer simply an eccentric sitcom: it is a community trapped within someone else’s reality. As Monica declares that “it’s all Wanda,” the mystery becomes an emotional and ethical question about power, pain and the worlds grief can create.

This podcast was produced in conjunction with the Bethel Centre.
